Create a new health culture at school
The much talked about Health Club of the school was formally inaugurated in a special assembly conducted in the auditorium on January 30th, 2009. The club logo was unveiled on the same day.
In April 2009, a ‘Health Mela’ was organized and various classes put up health stalls based on themes like 'Know your body', 'Personal hygiene', 'Behaviour and Life skills', etc. The teachers organized a food stall exhibiting various healthy foods and the money collected from the food stall was donated for charity.
As a part of ‘No tobacco day’, the club members put up a street play enacting the various ill effects of tobacco.
The HRS Health Hub (H3) also organizes blood group checking camps for the students of Classes XI and XII at the school auditorium. The Health Hub clubs with The General Hospital(GH), Munnar to organize these camps.
The Health Hub members organised a special assembly on 13th August '09. This assembly aimed at creating awareness of Swine Flu. A power point presentation was shown to the students highlighting the causes, symptoms and preventive measures on Swine flu. The pamphlets on swine flu prepared by the club were distributed to the students by the Principal. The assembly concluded on a note that prevention is better than cure.
The club celebrates World Diabetes day which falls on the 16th of November. Various posters depicting the causes, effects and prevention of diabetes are put up on this day. Students also put up street plays on diabetes to create awareness.
H3 is now functioning in a vibrant manner, thus creating a new culture at school.
